Who is Two Little Birds Photography?
Two Little Birds was established in 2013 by us, Jay and Sonja.
We are still running the show but we now have a small team of talented creatives who help us manage all the behind the scenes tasks of documenting a wedding like photo editing, album designing, admin and all of that jazz.
Where are you based?
We are travellers at heart and we are always on the move but we call Sydney, Australia home for most of the year.
We are often on the road, shooting weddings and elopements or just exploring new places. We spend a few months a year in Italy and in Bali so if you are tying the knot in Europe or SE Asia we might just be around the corner already.
How much does it cost to travel to our wedding?
It's actually not that expensive nowadays. We have shot weddings internationally and within Australia for a while now and we know that travel can be very affordable.
If your wedding is further then 2 hours from Sydney CBD, then just ask for a travel quote when you send your enquiry.
How do we book you?
Easy! Send me an email and see if your wedding date is still available. If it is and you are happy with my packages, then I will send you out a deposit invoice and a contract to sign. Thats it! Super easy. Oh, and I am more than happy to catch up for a coffee and a chat anytime!
Can we meet you before the big day?
You sure can.
We love to meet all or couples before the wedding. If that is not possible because of distance, then Zoom/Skype/WA are always great options.
When will I receive my photographs?
You will receive your gallery around 4-6 weeks after your wedding day.
If you have prints included, we will send those out to you around 2 weeks after that.
If you have ordered an album, it will take up to 3 weeks for printing after the designing process is completed.
What do we receive?
You will receive the images that I have carefully selected, edited and finished (approximately 500-1000 images depending on the duration of your wedding). The photos will be sized both for print and for web, so you can organise your own prints if you'd like as well as share your images via email or social media as soon as you get them.
If you have ordered an Album, we will work with you throughout the process and make sure it is exactly how you want it. It can be ready just weeks after you receive your photos.
How do you shoot so many weddings in such beautiful locations around the world?
Believe it or not, we book most of my weddings from word of mouth.
We always make sure we pour our souls into every wedding so we can continue to book amazing clients around the world!
We are also very keen travellers and always connect with fellow adventurers anywhere we go.
Ultimately though, a wedding is about the people and its about the love they share so any place in the world is the perfect place for it.
We see so many beautiful weddings on your website.. Do you still shoot humble backyard weddings and local garden & church weddings?
Of course! We love all weddings and all the different shapes and sizes they can possibly come.
Do you shoot same -sex weddings?
Australia has finally legalised same-sex weddings but we have shot same sex weddings even before that!
We don’t like posey photos where the couple have a fake smile in every photo, We like the natural candid photos a lot more!
AMEN! We love that too!
We won't make you smile for every photo. The most common comment from our couples is usually: “Wow! We almost didn't even notice you were around, it really felt like you were just one of our guests!”
When it comes to the couples portraits, we can give you some direction and help you feel comfortable so that you will still be looking very natural.
Do you prefer flash photography or natural light?
We love natural light! Natural light is great for preserving the real mood and feeling of your wedding.
We love using the light that is available and make the best of any given situation.
Of course we use flash when it gets too dark at night.
I’m really keen to book, but I live in Iceland. Or Mexico. Or in Woop Woop. Will you travel this far?
Ab - so - friggin - lutely!
We are both keen travellers and we have travelled/lived in over 50 countries between us.
Just to name a few: Italy (where Jay is from), Spain, Scotland, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia (Bali is like a second home) Cambodia, England, Norway, New Zealand, South Africa, Senegal and the list goes on.
We have explored a lot of Australia too and we never get tired of doing more of that.
I would love for some of my photographs to be exclusive and not be used on your website. Is that possible?
Not a problem in the world.
We have a dedicated password protected area accessible only by our clients.
Everything can be private if that is what you wish.
How much is the deposit? Is it refundable and how quick will I have to pay it?
We recommend you to pay the deposit as soon as you make your final decision as it will secure the date for your booking.
The deposit is $900 and is non refundable.
When do I have to pay the whole amount?
The outstanding amount is due at least 2 weeks before the wedding date.
We also offer customised payment plans.
Do you shoot with a second photographer? Or do you ever have an assistant?
We do sometimes use a second shooter and we have a list of awesome colleagues/friends who are always glad to shoot beside us.
The choice of having a second shooter comes down to the size and the logistics of your wedding day so if you are not sure if you need one let's have a chat.
A second shooter is available for at a separate fee.
We sometimes use an assistant, we will notify you before bringing anyone to your wedding.
Can I decide on an Album after the wedding day?
Of course you can! You can make that decision at any time and we will not pressure you into it.
A lot of our clients actually order their album around August/sSeptember so that they can have it in their hands before Christmas, some instead decide to order it just on time for their first year anniversary.
